17 Days till Christmas

Revenge of the Plants

Part 1

All year long, tiny defenseless plants are murdered at the paws of merciless felines.

These senseless acts are unprovoked.
Plants do not ask to be hated..they just are.
Though it is unfair for beautiful flowers and lush green leaves to be chewed and shredded within an inch of their lives...
We must not allow them to retaliate against our feline friends.

Below are a list of assassins who have been created to deliver payback.
They are highly trained and pose great risk to the safety of your kitty.

First on the list is actually a decoy or sorts.
 The Poinsettia - Mild Irritant

We all know they are toxic Cat killing plants!
Evil to the bone.. or root..
We have been misled.

Though they are not on the 'Okay' list
Poinsettias are actually only a mild irritant to Cats.
I would still keep them away from Fluffy..
Last thing you need for the holidays is
an irritated Cat...

The Lily
Evil Kidney Killer

Let me just say that I think this bouquet is stunning.
Cat Murderous - but stunning for the non cat type of bride.

There are many different types of Lilies.
They are all toxic to cats.
The whole damn family.
The whole damn flower!
This would be your high payed assassin.
The guy that is a jack of all trades.
Can mix in with anyone.
High Society or Homeless..anywhere.
(I say this because you may find a Calla Lily in a mansion, or a Tiger Lily on the side of the road)

Your cat does not need to eat this plant to get sick - all it has to do is get the pores on it.
Silly kitty wants to smell the plant? Bad..

While the poisonous component has not yet been identified, it is clear that with even ingestion of very small amounts of the plant life threatening toxicity will occur. Unfortunately, all parts of the lily plant are considered toxic to cats. Within only a few hours of ingestion of the lily plant, a cat may vomit, become lethargic or develop a lack of appetite. These signs continue and worsen as kidney damage progresses.
Without prompt and proper treatment by a veterinarian, the cat may develop kidney failure in 36 to 72 hours. Merrick Veterinary Group

I am hoping you do not have a Pot plant growing in your living room.
Cuz seriously that is not the right way to do it!

I joke - but on the off chance that you happen to have a license to grow,
or found a lost plant on the side of the road and it looked like it needed a home...
Don't let your Cat around it.

Oh, and if you have that guy over.. you know 'that guy'
The douche who thinks it's super funny to blow smoke in an animals face..
Tell him as soon as he walks in the door - that if he gets any where near your cat with any sort of
substance - you will dick punch him, then draw the word Dumbass on his
forehead, after duct taping him to a telephone pole.
Hey, you warned him. You could have him sign a waver..
I like the waver idea.

The pot plant would obviously be your 'Cartel' type assassins.

Prolonged depression,Ingestion of Cannabis sativa by companion animals can result in depression of the central nervous system and incoordination, as well as vomiting, diarrhea, hypersalivation, sleepiness or excitation, increased heart rate, dilated pupils, low blood pressure, low body temperature, seizure, coma, death (rare). Holly
Prickly Jerk

This plant is part of Christmas, it's even in the songs.. which are
currently stuck in my head.
You can't really think of Holly without thinking of Christmas.
Unless of course your name is Holly.

This would be your typical low level assassin.
But..she's pretty..which may be part of the lure.
Bright red berries, shiny green leaves.
Unless your are a Dog.. then it's light grey berries with darker grey leaves...
Dogs - not the best to ask if your socks match.

This plant can be harmful in 2 ways. The leaves ares prickly.
This results in drooling, lip smacking, head shaking and general irritation.
Second, the berries are toxic.
Both the leaves and berries have a toxic substance that can cause gastrointestinal upset.

Tomorrow I shall continue - starting with Ivy

The cats would like to hear from the humans.
